Okay, we'll go into this in much more detail in a future article, but I just want to give you a quick whirlwind tour of the admin interface. So when we first log in, we've got a kind of dashboard here, which acts as you'd expect. I can see all the videos. I can change the sort. I can filter them. I can search for them. I can obviously upload videos that aren't recorded using the Mac app. And then on each of these, I've got the kind of actions you'd expect to download them or duplicate them or delete them or whatever. But probably the most interesting thing to look at here, if we go into a video, you can see that we've got the ability to edit titles. We've also got the ability to edit the URL or the slug here. And there's a couple of little helpers which I'll talk about later to make this a little bit easier to do some common things. I can also change the visibility here. then I've got a bunch of actions for things like opening the public URL copying it at current time so this editor is the same editor or the same viewer that is shown on the actual page but I've also got a few things up here that are quite interesting so if I hit edit video it will open up a kind of full proper video editor where I can scrub through it and I can also add trims to the start and end and I can cut them and then when I commit those that will automatically regenerate a whole bunch of videos and stuff so that we get the edited version and at the moment all it does is that but I have got the transcription down here which means I can edit by word as well be like you can with discord but if I go back from that you can see here we've got a bunch of metadata that was captured from the video including the microphone the space on disk the status of it and all that kind of thing we can edit the description and this supports markdown in here so that's what will be used for SEO data I can also add and remove tags and I can add private notes here and then below that we have a bunch of thumbnails that were automatically selected as possible candidates from the actual video but if I want to I can also open I can obviously upload a custom thumbnail and I can open up a cover editor which basically allows me to create a cover in the style I normally create them here and then I can when I've done that save that as a potential thumbnail and I can also use these for other things but again I'll talk about this in a subsequent article and then the last thing probably worth mentioning here is this kind of admin panel I guess at the bottom here and what this basically shows in the first tab is all of the events which occurred on the video this is kind of almost like an event log right and this is not the sort of thing I'd normally want to include in like a public facing app but since this is me here having this information allows me to understand if something has gone wrong with the video with transcription or if something weird has changed with the video I've also got a processing checklist here which basically allows me to rerun post processing or certain steps in the post processing if I want to the transcript which is generated actually on the Mac is available here for me to read and then down here I've got the ability to actually see the files as they're stored on disk so this still has all of the streamed up segments here but it also has a other like interesting stuff the thumbnail candidates and this recording.json is you know a big json file with a load of data about the recording and again all of this just means that I I don't have to actually like get on the server and look at the files where they're stored here just makes managing these videos a little bit easier so yeah that's basically a quick overview of how all of this stuff works there's obviously a lot behind the scenes here and I've also got like bin so I can delete videos and actually what we can see here at the moment this this video here is the one that I am currently recording right now which because it's being streamed up is available here
